Never let it be said we don’t enjoy a party. Upgrade your Canberra wine tours in the rolling hills of Wamboin, NSW with a Contentious Character event. We’re just 20 minutes from Canberra airport which means that even on a school night, you can come out to drink our cool-climate wines and share our views.
We’re known for our events because they’re unique (and we also love to work with local producers to deliver them). From cheesemaking workshops to Sunday yoga and brunch to cabaret shows to our popular Thursday trivia and Korean nights, our events are more memorable than a standard Canberra wine tour.
We admit they are sometimes a bit out there but they are always a lot of fun. And we’re always open to ideas so drop us a line or email and let us know.
Visiting the Canberra district and have the kids in tow? Most of our events are kid-friendly. We keep the little ones in mind, often putting on special entertainment (to get them out of your hair for a bit) and offering children’s menus. At Contentious Character, families are welcome and pets are not only welcome but highly encouraged; you’ll often find our own doggos roaming around amongst the vines.
And if you fall in love with the place and our cool-climate wines as much as we have, talk to us about hosting an event for you. We cater all kinds of events whether it’s corporate hospitality, a birthday or anniversary party or a wedding (our favourite). Our menu blends traditional Italian flair with contemporary Australian dishes, with ingredients sourced from local producers, chosen to complement our local wines beautifully.
And yes, even if you’re after a standard Canberra wine tour for a large, merry group - we’ll take care of you then too.
